Its unique softness and smoothness enables it to go through soft tissues minimizing the irritation, which stitching involves.

DS: round needle with cutting blade - The needle is designed for surgical procedures where only minimal tissue traumatization is desired, but excellent penetration, better than with round needles, is still required. Provides a smooth transition between the hard tissues.
DM: needle with reverse cutting blade type P - The needle has a specially designed tip, the third section of the length of the needle is sharp, while the remaining part has an oval cross-section, flattened for better grip in a vise. Thanks to its unique properties it can be successfully used in many surgical procedures.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

I’ve been using Coreflon PTFE surgical suture to stitch the wound after implantation and augmentation for over one year now. The product is worth recommending at each state of surgery and treatment. Coreflon suture does not coil or tangle, sutures are flexible and do not cause tissue tension. Patients feel more comfortable after surgery in comparison to use of conventional monofilaments. Coreflon suture does not irritate soft tissue, does not cause inflammatory reactions, mucous membrane heals quickly and does not leave scars.

I am using for more than one year now the PTFE Coreflon sutures for our minimally invasive bone augmentation concept - the “open healing” concept - and I believe this is the right time for me to give feedback. This concept only works with the PTFE sutures, but to achieveve the expected result we needed more than just a PTFE suture - we needed Coreflon suture. After one year of documented cases, I can only say this is the suture for "no failures" in everyday practice. Innovative, strong and “fancy” needle (especialy the black one) with reliable mounting and versatile use.

Parameters, structure and excellent needle quality of Coreflon PTFE suture makes it a perfect material for stiching wounds in the skin and mucous membrane areas. I use Coreflon with great success in augmentation, implant and periodontic surgery. Decidedly less after-treatment inflammatory complications as well as better and faster wound healing was observed. Coreflon supports tissues very well, does not loosen, increases patient comfort and reduces physical discomfort of removal the stitches to mimimum.

I have used Coreflon suture several times now and I am very pleased. It is easy to work with if you know how to proceed. PTFE suture is quite demanding itself but in skilled hands it is a very good and versatile product in comparison to other market leading brands. It's long enough to work on bigger implant sites where often two sutures had to be used. With Coreflon I just need one. 3/8 needle suits my needs better than 1/2, but that is my personal preference.

Coreflon is an excellent, new PTFE surgical suture manufactured by Implacore. Most common problems for many other manufacturers were the quality of PTFE thread, needle and the needle mounting. Quality level of W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. products were beyond the reach of other PTFE surgical suture manufacturers for a long time. I am delighted with excellent properties of Coreflon, especially thread’s  ability to stretch and to return to its original shape. A new model of the needle, high quality of the components and suitable thread-needle connection will contribute to the rapid success of this product.
